Student visa fee

The Federal Foreign Office states that a national visa for a stay longer than 90 days costs €75. Its study checklist identifies the same €75 visa payment for a degree course or preparatory study Source 1,Source 2.

Minors and waivers

The national visa fee for a minor is half the standard rate, which is €37.50. Students funded by a public scholarship can receive a waiver, along with covered spouses or partners and minor children Source 1.

Proof of funds is not a fee

A blocked account or other financial proof demonstrates living resources. It is not a payment to the German government, so it is not added to the €75 visa fee on this page Source 2.
