Visa fees by destination
Ireland visit visa fees
Ireland charges €60 for a single-entry visa, €100 for a multiple-entry visa and €25 for a transit visa Source 1. These fees were current on 19 October 2026. The charge covers administration and is not refunded if an application is refused or withdrawn Source 1. Some nationalities, qualifying family members and official travellers are exempt. A local embassy or visa office may impose an extra document-submission charge, which is separate from the government visa fee Source 1.
Official fee table
Immigration Service Delivery publishes three standard charges. A single journey costs €60, a multiple journey costs €100 and transit costs €25 Source 1.
Single and multiple entry
A single visa permits one journey during its validity. A multiple visa permits more than one journey, subject to border permission on each arrival Source 2.
Multiple entry is discretionary. If an applicant pays €100 and receives a single-entry visa, Ireland does not refund the €40 difference Source 2.
Exemptions
The official fee page lists exempt nationalities and categories. These include qualifying family members under EU free-movement rules and holders of diplomatic, service or official passports travelling in an official capacity. Evidence of the exemption may be required Source 1.
Extra charges and refunds
The visa fee is an administration charge and is not returned after refusal or withdrawal. A visa office, embassy or consulate can publish a separate local charge for document submission or payment handling Source 1.
Apply through the official AVATS system. The application summary tells the applicant which office handles the documents and how that office accepts payment Source 1,Source 3.
