Kenya's standard electronic travel authorisation costs US$30, excluding payment charges. A transit eTA costs US$20, a one-year multiple-entry eTA costs US$300 and the five-year multiple-entry eTA for US nationals costs US$185 Source 1. Expedited processing adds US$100 Source 2. The fee is non-refundable after submission, including after denial Source 3. Exemptions apply to East African Partner State citizens and several listed nationalities and official categories Source 4.
Official fee table
The fee schedule excludes payment-processing charges. The official portal shows the fee for the selected authorisation before submission Source 1,Source 2.
Who needs an eTA
Kenya requires an approved eTA for most foreign visitors before travel. Infants and children need their own authorisation when no exemption applies Source 4.
Citizens of East African Partner States are exempt for visits within the stated period. Kenya's 2025 rules list other exempt nationalities and official categories on the application page Source 4.
Documents and processing
The official portal requests a passport valid for at least six months after planned arrival, a photograph, contact information, travel itinerary, accommodation details and payment method. The standard processing target is three working days, though a case can take longer Source 2,Source 4.
Refund rule
The portal terms state that the application fee cannot be refunded or transferred after submission, including when the eTA is denied or travel plans change. A mistaken application may require a new paid submission Source 3.
Apply only through Kenya's government eTA site or official mobile application Source 2.
