Visitor Visa fee
Immigration New Zealand listed the Visitor Visa at a total cost from NZD 441 on 19 October 2026. It permits a stay of up to six or nine months, depending on the visa granted Source 1.
The November 2025 fees guide breaks the standard rest-of-world total into a NZD 300 application fee, NZD 41 immigration levy and NZD 100 IVL for one traveller Source 2,Source 3.
Pacific temporary reduction
From 1 June 2026 for 12 months, eligible Pacific nationals applying outside New Zealand pay a reduced NZD 161 total. Immigration New Zealand says that amount includes the NZD 41 immigration levy, and those applicants do not pay the IVL Source 5.
NZeTA cost
A visa-waiver traveller normally uses an NZeTA. The official application guide lists NZD 17 through the mobile app or NZD 23 through the website. Most applicants add the NZD 100 IVL, bringing the common totals to NZD 117 or NZD 123 Source 4.
Australian citizens travelling on an Australian passport need neither a Visitor Visa nor an NZeTA. Some other travellers do not pay the IVL, including many Pacific passport holders and qualifying transit passengers Source 1,Source 3.
Refunds and payment
The IVL is not refunded if Immigration New Zealand declines the application. The visitor page advises applicants not to book non-refundable travel before approval Source 1,Source 3.
